April 19, 2004
If someone had told me 30 years ago that I would have been the chosen one to plan, organize, and gather our class together for our reunion, I would have told them that they were absolutely crazy! However, I want all of you to know that Saturday night was one of the most rewarding and proudest days of my life. I say this because to see all of you come together and collectively share your stories and know that I creatively had a part in encouraging you to attend makes all of my work, time, and energy worthwhile.
Most of you marveled at my drive to make this happen and so I will share with you why. Like most teenagers, I too was troubled. My father died when I was a freshman and a couple of years after I graduated from SPA my mother died from cancer. Therefore, I have never been given the opportunity to express my appreciation to my mother for giving me the best opportunity of my life which was sending me to SPA. Of course at the time, I was too immature, selfish, and inexperienced to appreciate her efforts to save me. I realize now that had I not attended SPA; I would have never been the person that I am today. Obviously, I am unable to tell her now or show her my appreciation so what I figured that I could do was to make this reunion a priority in my life and bring as many of us together. This in turn would give everybody the opportunity to show how special we are to each other and to remind us all how SPA made a difference in our lives.
What carry us throughout our lives are the memories that we hold, positive experiences, and most importantly our own personal relationship with God. Thank you for all of your compliments, gratitude, and support. This has been an overwhelming experience for me because my only expectation was to create positive memories for us!
Since we are older now, I think that it is important to have these get-togethers every 5 years. So save your pennies because hopefully in the year 2009 if not sooner we could take a trip together. Details will be given later.
Remember to keep me informed as to where you can be contacted. Also I hope all of you will stay in contact with each other. Remember that we now have access to the website chat room to visit with each other at www.sanpasqualacademy.com Look forward to my emails notifying you ahead of time.
I really do appreciate all of your love. This occasion has been the greatest gift that I could have ever received. All of you make me proud to be apart of Class of 74.
