Sad News. Hal Hampton passed away on Monday, June 7th 2010. Mr Hampton was the Music Teacher for us at SPA for many years. He will be missed.

Willa Bruce passed away on May 12th in Escondido, California her service is Friday, May 21 at 3 p.m. at the Escondido SDA Church. She worked for many years at SPA in different positions. She was a strong supporter of the Alumni Assn.
Just received word the Robert (Bob) Whitcomb '51 passed away on May 11, 2010. He was living with his daughter Roberta in Colorado. He also worked on the farm for many years at SPA.
G E Stearns who was a Faculty member of SPA from 1950 to 1963 passed away on December 14, 2009. We received this note from his daughter BJ Stearns-Bannister: ”Papa died 7:35 a.m. Dec. 14, 2009 services at the SDA Church in Yountville CA at 2:15/2:30 Big meal and lots of hugs afterwards in the Fireside Room at the church. November 18, 2009: From: Marilea Hixon: Kathy Hixson..my mom, passed away at 6pm on 11/16. She has been through a lot of pain in the past several years. I am so thankful that she is no longer suffering but she will be greatly missed. Services will be Sabbath 11/21 at 3pm at the Redding Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mrs Hixon, the Girl's Dean both at SPA and MBA influenced SO MANY students over a long time...she will be missed...not only by her daughters Cathy & Marilea but by the many daughters and sons she took under her wing in the many years she served...a true christian lady...I will update information as I receive more...Webmaster (See Tribute page)

The Coming of the Lord
13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Classmate and SPA Grade School Teacher passes: Gene (Cooney) Robinson '62 was a 4 year student and then tought at the little Grade School for many years. He passed away on Friday, October 16th. His brother Willis and sister Riva '74 attended SPA as well. He taught 7th and 8th grade at the Palm Springs SDA School. His service is going to be this Saturday afternoon at the Palm Springs Oasis SDA Church: 74200 Country Club Dr., Palm Springs, CA 92260.
